WE want to share Christ with others through our daily Christian living, sharing of our testimonies to our loved ones or friends at the market place.
“Evangelism is not converting people to Christ, it is sharing of Christ through our testimony, our Christian living, showing genuine concern for pre-believers, we are to sow the seed, and it is Christ that will do the converting.”
The Evangelism Committee seeks to create a culture of evangelism in BMC, such that its members will seek to love and reach the world they live in, for Jesus Christ.
3 phases are important to our developmental growth in terms of evangelism:
Phase 1- Creating a Culture of Invitation
John 1:46 records that when Nathanael heard from Philip that the latter had found the Christ – Jesus from Nazareth, he said “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” To which Philip replied, “Come and see.” Well, Nathanael went, saw, found his prejudice to be groundless and was transformed.
We believe that learning to invite others to come to witness Christ is the basic step of evangelism. Having been invited, the guests can then make an informed decision regarding Christianity of their own freewill.

(December)Phase 2- Equipping members to evangelize on their own
Luke 9:1-6 records that after having led them in ministry for a fair bit, Jesus sent out the 12 apostles to minister amongst the masses. Luke 10:1-20 further records that Jesus sent out 72 disciples to minister amongst the masses. Each time, the followers of Jesus were asked to do the ministry of sharing about the kingdom of God, on their own.
We believe that learning to & knowing how to share the gospel is our bounden duty as a Christian.
Phase 3 – Evangelising the community as a church
Matthew 28:18-20 records that Jesus commissioned His disciples to go out into the world to share the gospel of Christ. Having led them throughout His earthly ministry, at the point prior to His Ascension, He commissioned them to corporately reach out to the world.
We believe that we are called corporately, as the Body of Christ, to reach out to the world that Jesus loved, ministered to and died for.
