Dear Friends,
By now you know that since we have to restrict gatherings to 10 or less people, we can’t have our regular worship services and in his letter to us, Bishop Chong has stated that the Annual Conferences have concurred to suspend Holy Communion in April.
I realise that to many of you, Communion is a vital part of your faith and worship. John Wesley, our founder, would heartily agree with you. For him, Holy Communion need not be confined to a once a month event. He advocated taking Communion as often as possible. I believe his desire was for the people called Methodists to remember the deep and great sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, and just as importantly, Jesus’ triumphal victory over death through his resurrection.
The resurrection of Christ foreshadows what we will also experience. Post physical death, our spirits will rise up to meet with the Lord. Those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus are assured of this in John 3:16 and Acts 16:31, among other verses.
So during this time, while we cannot celebrate the physical aspect of the Holy Communion, may I encourage you to ponder the meaning of the sacrament. As you eat, remember that Jesus gave his body, his life, for you. And as you drink, remember Jesus shed his blood for you that you need not pay for your sins with your blood.
Indeed, despite the situation that surrounds us, we have much to be thankful for. Let us with grateful hearts, continue to look to God for our salvation and deliverance.
God Bless You Richly.

Mark 4:39And Jesus awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
