Dear BMC members & friends,
I bring you greetings in the name of the Lord. I pray you are well physically and spiritually as you receive this note. As you may have read the COVID-19 health crisis is evolving rapidly, and the number of new cases in Singapore has increased significantly.
In view of this, BMC leadership, together with the guidance from The Methodist Church in Singapore, has decided on these precautionary measures to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.
BMC Virtual Sermons
All church-based services (English, Chinese, Changemakers and Frontliners) will be suspended for two weekends – starting from 21 March 2020. We plan to resume services on Palm weekend (4 & 5 April) with all precautionary measures put in place.
The weekly recorded sermon and e-bulletin will be available through BedokMC News broadcast and BMC Facebook page on Saturday at 5pm.
Please encourage your loved ones to subscribe to BedokMC News WhatsApp broadcast at 97140661 for the latest updates.
We’re also attaching a letter from Bishop Dr Chong Chin Chung from The Methodist Church in Singapore addressing this matter (https://tinyurl.com/twazjsm).
Walking in Love
We would like to encourage adult CGs to continue to meet unless discerned otherwise by CG leaders.
All other BMC-related activities n events will be cancelled or suspended until further notice.
Let us be socially responsible – not just for our personal safety, but also of others, especially those who are more vulnerable and susceptible to infection.
Let us also choose not to spread fear and refrain from circulating COVID-19 news that are unsubstantiated/released without permission or without clear attribution of source, particularly among our circle of friends or loved ones.
Surrendering to God
BMC’s theme for 2020 is “Matters of the Hands”. So may we lift our hands in surrender to God, to rely on His sovereignty and steadfast love, to remember that Christ surrendered Himself for us for a reason.
Surrendering ourselves to God’s loving hands doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means to join our hearts and hands to pray for those who have been afflicted and to thank the many hands in the frontline that have come together to help those recover from the virus.
May we remain faithful to the Lord in this time of difficulty.
Blessings
Kay Huat
